U3A South Australia Member Organizations are insured through AON for General & Products Liability Insurance and Volunteers Personal Accident Insurance. See 2024 Policy Schedule below.
Volunteers Personal Accident Insurance covers those undertaking tasks on behalf of a U3A South Australia Member Organisation, such as travelling to and from leading or teaching a group or class or whilst in the process of leading or teaching a group or class, volunteering in the office, participating in management meetings. It does not cover a member who is injured in the normal course of participating in a class or group.
Member Organizations (MOs) which undertake pistol shooting and similar activities must organize their own insurance to cover these specific activities. If, as a MO, you consider introducing a new activity which might be deemed to be problematic (rock climbing, wheelchair racing, pickleball), please contact our Secretary at u3asouthaustralia@gmail.com for guidance.
Claims or queries must be directed through the Secretary. Do not go directly to the insurer.
The cost of these insurances is included in the annual fee, based on membership numbers, paid by Member Organizations to U3A South Australia.
