French Intermediate
I used to teach french in secondary schools and my have been taking classes at U3A for several years. With a focus on conversation, we do some reading of the sort of French that one finds in guides, signs and so on. I have found from Zoom sessions that once people get used to using it, we can have a very lively conversation and can show images and so on to each other quite easily. Mme LeFarge.
History of Adelaide
This course relies on detailed information found in records of the early settlement and we will look at these and early paintings and photographs to get a real feel for the early days of Adelaide. We will be able to look at these records online, together via Zoom. We will also look at the early settlements outside Adelaide. Participants will be able to contribute, I hope. Participants will learn how to find many of the history resources online and to do their own investigations. I have been presenting a version of this course for several years at Murray Bridge. I have been a history enthusiast for years and am excited by what can be found online these days. Zoom introduction will be available to anyone who has not sued it before. Fred Bloggs
Wikipedia
In the three sessions we will look at how it began, how it has developed rules for editing and improving articles so that it is now the greatest record of reliable information the world has ever seen. I believe it is the greatest development in the world in the 21st Century – so far. Participants interested will learn how to edit the Wikipedia and how to become a contributor in a humble way to the Wikipedia.
